How to Throw the Perfect Tea Soirée
Now that Spring is finally here, we think it’s time to throw a Springtime Tea Soirée!
Let’s face it, it’s so hard to get together with friends given how busy our lives are.
If you have kids it’s especially hard! And women need women. We need to lift each other up, to laugh about our similarities, to share our latest fashion finds, and to tell stories about our significant others or kids (if you have either one, you know). So this month I challenge you to throw a party. Invite a new friend, and have your friends bring new friends. You truly never know how your life can be changed by who you know if you don’t branch out and meet some new gal pals!
So, you haven’t hosted a tea party since you were 10…we get it. But would you believe us if we said it’s even more fun as an adult!?! Psst...(spoiler alert) you can add wine! It’s not against the rules :)
We’ve put together some tips on how to throw together a tea party with the best tea, easy decor and simple food items to impress all your besTEAs.
Step one: Tell all your friends and invite them to bring someone you don’t know! An invitation would be appropriate during this step as well, whether it be electronic or mailed. Also, tea parties are for all ages! They’re great for children’s birthday parties, grandma’s special day, or just an excuse to have your squad over.
Step two: Order some Soirée tea! What a great story to tell your new tea pals -- you discovered these new modern flavors of tea created by a momprenuer! With flavors like Peppermint ParTEA (mint chocolate), Black Tie Tiramisu and Dance the Chai Chai, you can’t go wrong.
Step three: You will need a method of serving the tea. Our favorite is this electric tea pot with a built-in infuser. This makes it easy to make loose leaf tea in large batches and it stays warm for a long time. You can also choose your water temperature based on the type of tea you are making. No brainer!
Step four: Decor and tea cups. You don’t have the perfect antique tea set lying around? No worries! Home Goods has some adorable tea cups with matching saucers. Also, consignment stores are FULL of antique tea sets. As for the decor, we found some adorbs lace doilies and pearls at Joann Fabrics to help beautify the tables. We added some flowers, and voila! Pinterest has some great decor inspiration as well, obviously.
Step five: Food! We suggest keeping it light. Grab some macarons at Trader Joe’s, make finger foods like tea sandwiches or scones, and you’re all set.
We hope this makes you see how easy it is to plan a tea party, and we hope you feel inspired to gather your crew and start your Soirée addiction today!
