We have talked a lot about the health benefits of Matcha but we get it, maybe you just can't part with your coffee! And who could blame you?! We certainly don't! Not to mention, there are soooo many "to do's" when it comes to staying healthy. Drink more water, exercise, stretch more, drink cucumber juice, sleep more, get all the steps in, do a face mask, make time for yourself but also do alll the things!!! It's soooo much! So this month we are giving you a few ideas on how to add more Matcha into your life without giving up your morning coffee or adding another "to do" to your list! Here is what we came up with. We hope you try one or all!!
1. Add it to your morning smoothie
If smoothies are more your speed, consider taking Bon Appetit‘s advice and revving up your post-workout glass with a bit of matcha, as well as other powerful green ingredients, like kale and cucumber. Try also adding fiber and probiotics, such as chia seeds and Greek yogurt, as well as nut milk for an added protein punch.
2. Add it to your breakfast bowl
If you love to start your day with a bowl of Greek yogurt or oatmeal, it’s easy to add matcha to your daily routine. For a fun flavor combination, combine 3/4 cup of your favorite yogurt or oatmeal with a teaspoon of matcha, plus a tablespoon of honey or maple syrup for sweetness. Then, top your bowl with your favorite fruit, granola or grains, and you’ve got yourself a perfect, power-packed breakfast bowl.
3. Try swapping your afternoon coffee for a Matcha Latte
Need a little afternoon pick me up but don't want to be up all night? Matcha gives you focused energy without the post coffee crash and sans jitters! Check out our recipe for the perfect Matcha Latte.
4. Powerful popsicles
When you think about green tea, you probably don’t immediately think of frozen treats, but matcha and avocado can combine for the perfect warm-weather snack using this recipe from Popsugar. Although these mean, green freezer pops may taste like an indulgence, they are pretty forgivable, since they are loaded with catechins, pantothenic acid and good fat.
5. Turn Matcha tea into stylish ice cubes
A great way to incorporate more matcha tea into your routine is to turn it into ice cubes. Simply fill an ice cube tray half way with cold Matcha tea and place the tray in the freezer. Once the tea is frozen, remove the tray from the freezer and twist it gently in order to pop out the matcha ice cubes. You can use Matcha green tea ice cubes to dress up cocktails, lemonade, and fizzy water.
