White Chocolate Mocha Matcha

‘Tis the season for all things green and all things cozy! As I was making my White Chocolate Matcha this morning, I took a minute to appreciate my evolution of drinking habits over the years. When I was younger a cozy beverage to me meant a Swiss Miss hot chocolate packet or a sugar-loaded Starbucks frappuccino. 

Over the years I stopped appreciating cheap premade mixes and inauthentic coffee chain beverages and started appreciating the art of making my own creations at home. I noticed that after I drank those beverages I had sugar highs and hard crashes and my skin took quite a beating. 

I became pretty desperate to change my ways and find new ways I could still enjoy a cozy, indulgent beverage, while not spending all my money and wreaking havoc on my skin. *Cue matcha* 

Matcha is packed with antioxidants, detoxifies your body naturally and effectively, enhances your mood, calms your mind, aids in concentration; is rich in fiber, chlorophyll, and vitamins, and so much more. It’s such an easy and simple way to add powerful health benefits to your everyday diet. 

And what’s even better? That the addition of cacao butter (like in this White Chocolate Matcha) to your matcha aids in its beautifying power. How? ( thanks for asking! (; ) Cacao butter is packed with polyphenols, which are antioxidants that help you age well by fighting free radicals. Cacao butter’s polyphenols work on the inside and out (YES you heard that right) because cacao butter is actually a great lotion for your skin and can even help with skin tone, elasticity, and collagen production. 

But enough about the talk, I know you’re wondering if this White Chocolate Matcha can walk the walk, so now is your chance to try it for yourself! Whenever you are feeling stressed or a bit low, make this latte for an instant feel-good and a way to become settled and calm during or after a long day! 

White Chocolate Matcha 

  • 1 tsp Soireè matcha 
  • 3 small chunks cacao butter (I use this one
  • 1⁄4 tsp vanilla extract 
  • 12 oz boiling water 
  • 4 oz oat milk 

Add matcha, cacao butter, vanilla, and milk into a blender. Pour in hot water and let mixture sit for 30 seconds or so until cacao butter has melted. Blend until smooth. Pour into cozy mug and enjoy, preferably with fuzzy socks, a cozy blanket, and your favorite Christmas movie (rumor has it that it tastes better this way)
